QUALITIES ENTREPRENEURS SHOULD POSSESS

Do you create new businesses? Do you bear most of the risks? Do you enjoy most of the rewards? If yes, then you’re an entrepreneur!
Apple and Steve Jobs, Bill Gates and Microsoft, Bob Iger and Disney, and more are exemplar epitome of entrepreneurship and entrepreneurs. They earn like crazy, and the products created by them are famous everywhere. Not one person exists who doesn’t know who Steve Jobs and Bill Gates are. Are we on the same page here?
Love, tried, and/or heard of Ben and Jerry’s Ice Cream?
Let’s dive into their journey of entrepreneurship. Shall we? Ben Cohen and Jerry Greenfield put together $8,000 in savings. Then topping a $4,000 loan, they leased a Burlington, Vt. service station. Equipment purchases follow them to bring life a differently flavored ice cream for the local market. Today, Ben & Jerry’s is booming and earning millions annually. That’s entrepreneurship!
Few are innate entrepreneurs, while others learn and imbibe entrepreneurial qualities. Entrepreneurs commonly showcase the following traits:

  • Creativity
  • Passion
  • Motivation
  • Product or service knowledge
  • Ability to network
  • Self-confidence
  • Optimism
  • Vision
  • Goal mindset
  • Risk-taking
  • Persuasiveness
  • Decision-making
  • Tenacity
  • Money management
  • Adaptability

“It isn’t the strongest of the species that survives, nor the most intelligent that survives. It is the one that is the most adaptable to change.” — Charles Darwin.
Entrepreneurs are enterprising, determined, hard-working, goal-oriented, and poised to take up new challenges.
The key to open the entrepreneurship door is an idea. Besides, open-mindedness, proactiveness, creativity, and determination will get an aspiring entrepreneur somewhere.
“The true entrepreneur is a doer, not a dreamer.” — Nolan Bushnell
True entrepreneurs are constantly working towards finding new and unique solutions to problems. They’re passionate and willing to make a change and world a better place.
They start a business to make a difference. Apart from the very obvious reason- make money.
Peter Drucker quoted, “Entrepreneurship is neither a science nor an art. It’s a practice.”

James Alticher once said, “Everyone is an entrepreneur. The only skills you need to be an entrepreneur: an ability to fail, an ability to have ideas, to sell those ideas, to execute on those ideas, and to be persistent so even as you fail, you learn and move on to the next adventure….”
Now, how uplifting is that! Personally speaking, it’s true from various angles.

A few more qualities of an entrepreneur are :

  • Bring it on attitude and adaptive nature towards changes and challenges
  • Seeking the advantage in opportunities
  • Inquisitiveness
  • Enthusiasm
  • Patience
  • Discipline
  • Decision-Making skills
  • A strong believer in themself
  • Innovative
  • Team morale

Let’s conclude with a quote from Roy Ash. “An entrepreneur tends to bite off more than he can chew, hoping he’ll quickly learn how to chew it.”
This hits different- “Never too young to start an empire. Never too old to chase a new dream.” — Anonymous

Entrepreneurs, keep going no matter what!!!
